Build the agent that doesn't need to phone home.
Small, senior, distributed team. Async-first. We hire engineers, security researchers, designers, and developer-relations people who care about getting the trust property right, not just shipping fast.
Working at AZMX
What you should expect.
- Async-first, with a few synchronous heartbeatsMost work happens in writing — RFCs, PR descriptions, Linear comments. One 30-min sync per week per team. We hire for written communication on purpose.
- Distributed across timezonesWe're north-of-Europe to west-coast-US. Standups don't exist; the long-form weekly update does. Senior contributors don't need their hands held; we don't pretend otherwise.
- Compensation calibrated to top-of-market seniorCash + ISO equity. No early-stage discount; we'd rather hire fewer, more senior people. Annual review against market, not ladder.
- We ship Friday afternoonsReleases go out throughout the week. There's no "shipping freeze." The CI gates and the trust-floor invariants do the heavy lifting.
- Public roadmap, public learningsThe work plan is open. The post-mortems are open. The product decisions are open. If that's uncomfortable for you, this isn't a fit.
Open roles
Where we're hiring.
Senior platform engineer
Native binary, PTY, MCP runtime. Comfortable with system-level work and the trade-offs of cross-platform desktop. Strong written communication required.
Apply → Engineering · TypeScriptSenior renderer engineer
React, zustand, codemirror, sub-second-startup obsession. Comfortable with editor-grade UX problems and the fine-grained scheduler details that make them feel right.
Apply → SecuritySecurity engineer
Threat-modeling, secret-egress prevention, customer-rooted issuer architecture. Comfortable writing the audit-log primitives and explaining them to a CISO.
DesignSenior product designer
Editorial, opinionated, native-first. You think in primitives, not screens. You've shipped a desktop product before. You write copy as well as you draw screens.
DevRelDeveloper advocate
Long-form writing, conference talks, the community library curation. You'd ship a high-quality blog post a week and care more about substance than reach.
GTMFounding sales (regulated)
Banks, federal, defense, healthcare. You've sold into procurement. You know what a SBOM is. You've handled an FAR-clause questionnaire before.
Hiring process
Three steps. Honest at each one.
- Written applicationTell us what you've shipped that mattered, why it mattered, and where the architectural decisions came from. No cover letter; we read the work.
- Paid take-home or system-design conversationFor engineering roles: a paid 4–6h task drawn from a real bug or refactor in our codebase. For design/DevRel: a deep-dive on a piece of your work. Always paid.
- Final round with the teamTwo 60-min sessions: one technical/craft, one ways-of-working. Decision and offer within 48h. No "interview death-march" — we hire decisively or we don't.

Cold inbound is welcome. Include what you'd build first and a link to something you've shipped you're proud of.
